MOONLIGHT CACTUS
Native to Mexico, the Queen of the Night bears magnificent, sweet-scented flowers that bloom for only six hours, once a year during the night. Before blooming, the flower fills up with lipids to produce a special oil that attracts pollinators and prompts a complex of sugars to travel through the flower and activate its blooming. Hand harvested in the Ourika Community Gardens, Moonlight Cactus is the key ingredient of the Night Reboot Serum.
IRIS
Used widely in fragrances, the Iris also has cosmetic properties making it one of the most precious ingredients. Hand harvested in the Ourika Community Gardens, Iris is the key ingredient of the Lines Away Serum.
MALLOW
Marshmallow flower contains many complex molecules, which stimulates the flowering process while protecting the flower against UV rays. Native from Mediterranean basin, Mallow is the key ingredient of the Light Up Serum.
CACTUS FIG
Abundant in Morroco, Barbary Fig and cactus are well known for their smoothing properties. Their flowers are the key ingredient of the Y Shape Serum.
SAFFRON
At the foothills of the Atlas Mountain hides a precious spice: the pistil of the Saffron flower. Used for centuries for its medicinal properties, Saffron has been passed down through generations of Moroccan women, who cherish the secret of its exceptional ability to embellish the skin. Hand harvested in the Ourika Community Gardens, Saffron is the key ingredient of the Or Rouge range.
MARIGOLD
Marigold grows extremely well in the Ourika Valley – the extreme weather conditions at this attitude prompt the plant to produce more flowers. The flowers are hand-harvested in YSL Beauty Ourika Community Gardens and in April and used as the key ingredient of the Touche Éclat range.
POMEGRANATE
The pomegranate is resistant to drought and can store much moisture and vitality in its fruits. Pomegranate juice extract is used for its high concentration in antioxidants, vitamin C, to protect skin and lips. Hand harvested in the Ourika Community Gardens, Pomegranate is the key ingredient of the Rouge Volupté Shine lipstick.
WALNUT LEAVES
Walnut trees can only grow in mountainous places such as the Moroccan Atlas Mountains. Mature leaves extract is highly concentrated in tannins, flavonoids for a smoother and radiant skin. Hand harvested in the Ourika Community Gardens, Walnut Leaves are the key ingredient of the Top Secrets range.
